What we use
When you create a player, the game stores your first name, chosen player name, career progress and settings in your browser. Online features use a Firebase anonymous account and store player names, ratings, match results, last-played times, online presence, challenges and live match data in Firebase. Other players may see your player name, first name and ratings on leaderboards or in a live challenge.
If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you provide. Our contact form also processes a short human-check response and technical request data to prevent spam. We do not use the form for marketing.
Why we use it
We use game data to provide your requested game, save progress, run leaderboards and coordinate live matches. We use contact details to read and answer your message. We use basic security checks to protect the site from abuse. These activities are based on providing the service you request and our legitimate interests in operating and securing it.
Providers and storage
Firebase and Google Cloud host the site, game accounts and database. Our email provider processes messages sent through the contact form. The game also requests fonts from Google Fonts. Providers may process data outside the UK under their applicable safeguards. We do not sell your data or run advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
Your browser keeps the local career until you clear site data. Active leaderboard records are reviewed for inactivity; records may be removed after about three months without play. Contact emails are kept while we handle the enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, then deleted when no longer needed. Technical service logs follow the hosting provider’s retention settings. Historical player data from the old game preview is held in a private migration archive and will be reviewed for deletion when migration is complete.
Cookies and local storage
The game uses browser local storage for your career and anonymous sign-in so play and online features can work. We currently do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear site storage in your browser, though that may erase your local career and disconnect your anonymous player account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, or object to or restrict some uses, by emailing admin101@picklesmash.uk. We may need enough information to identify your player. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
